The Sonologist performs and interprets ultrasound examinations to assist in the diagnosis and management of various medical conditions. The evaluates imaging findings, prepares accurate reports, communicates significant findings to treating clinicians, and maintains compliance with patient-safety and applicable regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review clinical history and ultrasound examination requests.
• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to the clinical indication.
• Conduct abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynaecological, thyroid, vascular, and other examinations within professional expertise.
• Use appropriate ultrasound techniques and protocols to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
• Interpret ultrasound findings and correlate them with clinical information.
• Prepare accurate and timely ultrasound reports.
• Communicate urgent or significant findings promptly to the treating physician.
• Perform ultrasound-guided procedures where appropriately trained and authorized.
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
• Ensure appropriate patient identification, privacy, and safety.
• Follow applicable ultrasound, radiation-free imaging, infection-control, and clinical protocols.
• Coordinate with radiologists, obstetricians, gynaecologists, physicians, surgeons, and other specialists.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and diagnostic information.
• Participate in imaging audits, quality-assurance activities, teaching, and continuing medical education.
