Responsibilities

About the Role
We are looking for a highly accomplished Solution Architect with 10+ years of experience. You will lead the architecture and solutioning of complex, enterprise-grade technology programmes for our clients; spanning Java-based backend systems, modern frontend applications, microservices platforms, and cutting‑edge GenAI solutions.

This role demands not just technical depth but exceptional communication and client engagement skills. You will regularly interface with C‑suite executives, enterprise architects, and business leaders — translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives and actionable solution strategies. You will be the face of our technical practice to clients, and your ability to listen, articulate, influence, and inspire confidence will be as critical as your architecture expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end enterprise solution architecture — defining architectural vision, patterns, and standards across Java backend, frontend, microservices, and GenAI technology layers.
• Produce comprehensive architecture artefacts — solution designs, architecture decision records (ADRs), high‑level and low‑level design documents, data flow diagrams, and technical roadmaps.
• Architect and govern microservices‑based platforms — defining service decomposition strategies, API contracts, event‑driven communication patterns, and service mesh configurations.
• Design and integrate GenAI and LLM‑powered capabilities — including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and AI‑augmented features — into enterprise product architectures responsibly and at scale.
• Provide architectural oversight across frontend implementation — governing micro‑frontend strategies, component design systems, and API integration patterns using React.js, Angular, or equivalent.
• Lead enterprise product solutioning — conducting build vs buy analysis, vendor evaluation, technology selection, and total cost of ownership assessments aligned with business objectives.
• Define and enforce non‑functional requirements — scalability, resilience, performance, security, and compliance — across all solution designs and technical deliverables.
• Engage and present to senior stakeholders, including C‑suite, executive sponsors, and Architecture Review Boards — communicating complex technical concepts with clarity, confidence, and business relevance.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering Leads, Product Managers, Data Architects, DevOps teams, and Business Analysts to ensure architectural intent is understood and faithfully implemented.
• Champion cloud‑native architecture principles — designing solutions on AWS and / or Azure using infrastructure‑as‑code, containerisation, and serverless patterns.
• Establish and evolve architecture governance frameworks, review processes, and technical standards across the engineering organisation.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies — GenAI, AI agents, edge computing, and platform engineering — to continuously advance the organisation's technology capability.
• Mentor and guide senior engineers and technical leads, growing architectural thinking and design capability across the engineering community.
• Support pre‑sales, RFP responses, and client‑facing solutioning activities where required.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and solutions architecture, with a demonstrable track record of leading enterprise‑scale product solutioning from concept to delivery.
• Deep expertise in Java / Spring Boot and designing production‑grade, cloud‑native microservices architectures at scale.
• Proven experience architecting and delivering GenAI / LLM‑powered solutions — including RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and responsible AI implementation.
• Strong architectural knowledge across frontend technologies — React.js, Angular, or equivalent — with the ability to govern frontend architecture and micro‑frontend patterns.
• Solid cloud architecture experience on AWS and / or Azure — designing scalable, secure, and cost‑optimised cloud‑native solutions.
• Expertise in system design fundamentals — distributed systems, event‑driven architecture, API‑first design, Domain‑Driven Design, and CQRS / Event Sourcing.
• Strong experience with enterprise product solutioning — requirements analysis, technology selection, vendor assessment, and architecture roadmap development.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills — proven ability to engage, influence, and align C‑suite executives, senior stakeholders, and cross‑functional delivery teams.
• Experience contributing to or leading Architecture Review Boards (ARBs) and governance processes across large technology organisations.
• Strong understanding of security architecture — OAuth2, Zero Trust, IAM — and regulatory compliance frameworks including GDPR.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor senior engineers and instil architectural thinking and engineering excellence across delivery teams.

Nice to Have

• TOGAF 9 / 10 certification or equivalent enterprise architecture framework knowledge.
• Experience with multi‑cloud or hybrid cloud architecture strategies.
• Exposure to platform engineering and internal developer platform (IDP) design.
• Familiarity with graph databases (Neo4j, Neptune) for knowledge graph and Graph RAG use cases.
• Experience with edge AI, model compression, or on‑device AI deployment.
• Pre‑sales or client‑facing solutioning experience in a consulting or product organisation.
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional / Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
• Experience delivering architecture in regulated industries — Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of FinOps principles and cloud cost governance frameworks.
