Passionate HR Group is seeking an experienced Solution Architect in Chandigarh with a strong software engineering background to design scalable cloud-based enterprise applications. You will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering, and leadership.
The role emphasizes hands-on guidance, secure and maintainable solution design, and knowledge of APIs, microservices, databases, and deployment patterns.
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with around 10 years of hands‑on software engineering and architecture experience. The ideal candidate should have strong experience designing and building cloud‑based enterprise applications using modern backend technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, or Python.
This role requires someone who can work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, product teams, and leadership to design scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions. The candidate should be hands‑on, technically strong, and capable of guiding development teams through architecture decisions, implementation choices, and engineering best practices.
The role is suitable for someone who has grown from a software development background into architecture and still remains comfortable discussing code, design patterns, APIs, databases, cloud services, integrations, and deployment approaches.
Design scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable enterprise applications.
Translate business and product requirements into technical solutions and architecture designs.
Define high‑level and low‑level solution architecture, including application components, APIs, integrations, databases, cloud services, security, and deployment models.
Evaluate technology options and recommend suitable tools, frameworks, platforms, and architectural approaches.
Create architecture diagrams, technical design documents, integration flows, and implementation guidelines.
Ensure that solutions align with business goals, technical standards, security requirements, and long‑term scalability needs.
Provide hands‑on technical guidance to development teams.
Review code, solution designs, API contracts, database designs, and integration approaches.
Help teams solve complex technical problems during design, development, testing, and production support.
Guide junior and mid‑level engineers on engineering best practices, design patterns, clean code, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Support proof‑of‑concepts, technical spikes, and feasibility assessments for new technologies or solution approaches.
Stay involved in implementation discussions and ensure architecture decisions are correctly translated into working software.
Design and build backend services using one or more modern technology stacks such as:
Design REST APIs, microservices, event‑driven systems, background jobs, and integration services.
Work with authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, error handling, and API security patterns.
Support the development of enterprise‑grade systems that are reliable, testable, observable, and easy to maintain.
Design and implement cloud‑based solutions using at least one major public cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Use cloud services for compute, storage, databases, messaging, serverless functions, networking, monitoring, and security.
Recommend suitable cloud architecture patterns based on scalability, cost, performance, security, and operational requirements.
Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, containerization, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies.
Understand cloud‑native design principles, including resilience, horizontal scaling, managed services, fault tolerance, and observability.
Design and review database schemas, data models, indexes, and query strategies.
Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
Understand NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies.
Recommend suitable database technologies based on use case, data volume, performance, consistency, and scalability needs.
Guide teams on transaction handling, data consistency, caching, reporting requirements, and data integration patterns.
Apply architecture principles such as separation of concerns, loose coupling, high cohesion, scalability, security by design, and maintainability.
Understand and apply patterns such as layered architecture, hexagonal architecture, microservices, event‑driven architecture, API gateway, CQRS, caching, and asynchronous processing where appropriate.
Ensure systems are designed with proper logging, monitoring, alerting, tracing, error handling, and production supportability.
Identify technical risks, architectural gaps, and improvement opportunities.
Support performance optimization, security reviews, and system reliability improvements.
Awareness of Generative AI concepts and practical use cases is preferred.
Experience building or experimenting with AI‑powered applications, chatbots, RAG‑based systems, LLM integrations, agents, or document processing workflows is a plus.
Ability to evaluate where AI can add business value and how AI capabilities can be integrated into enterprise applications.
Familiarity with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, LangGraph, vector databases, embeddings, or similar technologies would be an advantage.
Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, engineering managers, developers, QA teams, DevOps teams, and leadership.
Explain technical decisions clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Facilitate technical discussions, architecture reviews, design workshops, and solution walkthroughs.
Communicate risks, trade‑offs, dependencies, and recommendations in a clear and structured manner.
Help bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation.
Around 10 years of experience in software engineering, solution design, and enterprise application development.
Strong hands‑on experience in at least one backend programming language or platform:
Experience designing and building cloud‑based enterprise applications.
Knowledge of at least one public cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, integrations, databases, security, and deployment patterns.
Good understanding of relational and NoSQL database technologies.
Experience with architecture documentation, technical design, and solution reviews.
Strong understanding of software design principles, architecture patterns, and engineering best practices.
Ability to guide development teams and mentor junior engineers.
Good communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to take ownership of technical decisions and drive them through implementation.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant cloud or architecture certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Architect, TOGAF, or similar certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of scalable, secure, cloud‑based enterprise applications. The role requires a strong hands‑on programming background, good architecture knowledge, cloud awareness, database understanding, and the ability to guide teams in making sound technology decisions. Exposure to Generative AI and AI application development will be an added advantage.
