Job summary

Aon seeks a Solution Architect for Data and Analytics in Bangalore. You will own architecture for analytics products, data pipelines, and cloud-native applications. The role requires translating complex requirements into scalable designs and communicating with technical and business stakeholders.

The candidate will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product owners, guiding architecture standards, security, and enterprise integrations across the Data & Analytics Services Platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum 12+ years of experience in architecture or technical lead roles.
• Strong background in Java and/or .NET and cloud-native, event-driven architectures.

Aon’s Data and Analytics organization delivers advanced analytics solutions through the Data and Analytics Services Platform (DASP). The team works across Risk Capital, Enterprise Architecture, and related business areas to support colleagues and clients with modern, scalable technology solutions.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The Solution Architect will own the architecture of products that use advanced analytics, data pipelines, web portals, statistical models, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The role will translate complex business requirements into secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions and communicate architectural decisions clearly to technical and business stakeholders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the solution architecture for products delivered through Aon’s Data and Analytics Services Platform.
• Design secure, scalable, event-driven, cloud-native applications and enterprise integrations.
• Collaborate with application developers, data scientists, data engineers, business analysts, product owners, and program managers.
• Translate business processes and requirements into practical solution designs and architecture standards.
• Produce architecture diagrams, design documentation, technical standards, and supporting artefacts.
• Advise delivery teams on Agile, DevOps, Azure DevOps, deployment, and integration practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and diagnose technical or architectural issues.
• Communicate complex architectural decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Mandatory skills:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical lead role in application development or architecture.
• Strong application development background with hands‑on experience in Java and/or .NET technologies.
• Experience designing and deploying complex, event-driven, cloud-native applications.
• Strong knowledge of Azure PaaS and serverless services, including Azure Container Apps, App Service, Functions, API Management, App Gateway, and Storage.
• Experience with enterprise application integration.
• Experience in Agile and DevOps, particularly Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of distributed application architecture, design principles, and patterns.
• Ability to create solution architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and business audiences.

Preferred skills:

• AWS PaaS services, including S3, Lambda, Step Functions, ECS, Docker, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, and SageMaker.
• Modern data stack technologies such as Databricks, Airflow, Snowflake, and StreamSets.
• Kubernetes, AKS, and/or EKS.
• AI solution experience involving RAG, MCP, Agentic AI, and multi-agent orchestration.
