Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise Windows / Active Directory environments.
• 10+ years of architectural experience in complex IT environments.
• Proven experience with Windows Server and AD infrastructure design and security.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for the Windows Server / Active Directory ecosystem; guide daily operations, mentor team members, and elevate critical issues as needed.
• Provide technical expertise and support across messaging, security, web, database, and infrastructure teams.
• Analyze, design, and implement enhancements to existing and future AD infrastructure and related services.
• Lead vulnerability assessments and contribute to mitigation strategies.
• Oversee system performance, capacity planning, upgrades, and environment expansion.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive SOPs and system design documentation.
• Research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies aligned with infrastructure goals.
• Support vendor, peer, and stakeholder communication for successful project execution.

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Windows / Active Directory Infrastructure Architect to lead the design, implementation, security, and support of our enterprise-grade Microsoft environment. This role demands deep technical expertise across multi-site, multi-forest AD environments supporting services such as Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, SSO, and systems management platforms. The ideal candidate will act as a technical leader, mentor, and trusted advisor, driving both current operations and future infrastructure strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for the Windows Server / Active Directory ecosystem; guide daily operations, mentor team members, and elevate critical issues as needed
• Provide technical expertise and support across departments including messaging, security, web, database, and infrastructure teams
• Analyze, design, and implement enhancements to existing and future AD infrastructure and related services
• Lead vulnerability assessments and actively contribute to mitigation strategies
• Oversee system performance, capacity planning, upgrades, and environment expansion
• Develop and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and system design documentation
• Research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies aligned with infrastructure goals
• Support vendor, peer, and stakeholder communication for successful project execution
• Ensure consistent adherence to security policies, auditing practices, and compliance requirements

Technical Skills & Tools

• Deep experience with Windows Server and Active Directory administration
• Expertise in AD Security, AD-integrated applications, and Single Sign-On (SSO)
• Strong knowledge of ADFS, DNS, DHCP, NTP, File & Print Services, and backup/restore operations
• Familiarity with auditing tools and reporting
• Proficiency with SCCM, WSUS, and endpoint management for servers and desktops
• Hands-on knowledge of virtualization technologies and best practices
• Understanding of firewalls, n-tier architecture, and disaster recovery/high availability strategies
