Job summary

Techblocks is seeking an experienced E-commerce Solution Architect to define and drive the technical architecture for a large-scale e-commerce platform. You will collaborate with engineering, product, DevOps, QA, and business teams to design scalable, secure, and available solutions.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot, React, microservices, APIs, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and a deep understanding of modern e-commerce architecture.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with strong architecture background.
• 5+ years in architect/senior architect role.
• Strong combination of Java + React + GCP.
• GCP certification is a plus.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with distributed/global engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain end-to-end architecture for e-commerce apps across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations and cloud infra.
• Design scalable, highly available solutions using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs and React.
• Define frontend architecture with React, TypeScript, state management and reusable components.
• Design cloud-native solutions on GCP focusing on scalability, reliability, security, performance and cost.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with engineering teams.
• Define architecture standards, patterns, coding standards and guidelines.
• Review designs, decisions and implementation approaches.
• Identify risks, dependencies and scalability/performance issues.
• Provide technical leadership to developers and teams.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD, infrastructure, observability and deployment strategies.
• Ensure security, compliance and enterprise architecture standards.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements for productivity.
• Assist troubleshoot of production issues and long-term architectural solutions.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to define and drive the technical architecture of a large-scale e-commerce platform. The candidate will work closely with engineering, product, DevOps, QA, and business teams to design scalable, secure, highly available, and maintainable solutions.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot, React, microservices, APIs, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with a solid understanding of modern e-commerce architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the end-to-end architecture for e-commerce applications across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations, and cloud infrastructure.
• Design scalable and highly available solutions using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and React.
• Define frontend architecture and best practices using React, TypeScript, state management, and reusable components.
• Design cloud-native solutions on GCP, considering scalability, reliability, security, performance, and cost optimization.
• Work with engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Define architecture standards, design patterns, coding standards, and technology guidelines.
• Review technical designs, architecture decisions, and implementation approaches.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and potential scalability or performance issues.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to developers, leads, and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD, infrastructure, observability, monitoring, and deployment strategies.
• Ensure solutions follow security, compliance, and enterprise architecture standards.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that improve engineering productivity and application capabilities.
• Support troubleshooting of complex production issues and provide long-term architectural solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in an Architect/Senior Architect role.
• Strong combination of Java + React + GCP experience.
• GCP certification is a plus.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience working with distributed/global engineering teams.
