Job summary

Headsup Corporation in Chennai is seeking a Senior Solar Design Engineer with 10+ years of experience to lead the design of PV ground-mounted and rooftop systems. You will perform sizing calculations, create SLDs and connection diagrams, and ensure designs meet grid and permitting requirements.

The role involves developing material lists, conducting energy yield assessments, and coordinating with sales, project management, and installation teams to deliver proposals and complete project packages.

Qualifications

• BE Electrical or Mechanical degree is required.
• 10+ years of experience in solar design and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Use software tools to design PV ground mounted and roof top systems.
• Perform accurate system sizing calculations.
• Design solar PV array layout.
• Create electrical single-line diagrams, block diagrams, panel schedules.
• Create connection diagrams for solar electric systems using CAD/PVsyst.
• Structural design for solar mounting structures.
• Pre-visualization of projects.
• Run PVsyst reports for system production estimates.
• Energy yield assessment reports.
• Cost & performance analysis.
• Develop optimal designs with SLD, PML, conduit and wire scheduling, routing.
• Equipment plans and conceptual 3-D renderings.
• Execute designs that adhere to grid compliance and permitting requirements.
• Building detailed bills of materials based on system specifications.
• Preparation of techno-commercial proposals and detailed project reports.
• Project costing & budgeting.
• Coordinate with management to develop complete proposal packages.
• Work across sales, project management and installation teams to meet client needs.
• Ensure internal deadlines and troubleshoot field design/construction issues.
• Organize training sessions, mentor team members and provide feedback.
