Job summary

Philips in Bengaluru is seeking a Software Technologist C++ to contribute across the full software development lifecycle. You will collaborate in pairing mode, challenge requirements, design, and quality, and act as a technical expert guiding best practices.

You will develop tests, conduct code reviews, support DevOps, diagnose defects, and maintain architecture docs. The role is office-based, with onsite collaboration; 3 days in the office, and engagement with cross-functional teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, electronics, information technology, or related engineering discipline.
• 4–8 years of relevant experience in software development roles.
• Experience across design, testing, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Participate in full software development processes with autonomy.
• Lead software design and provide guidance on best practices.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans including unit, integration, and system tests.
• Perform code reviews to ensure coding standards and quality.
• Support DevOps in deployments and monitor performance metrics.
• Diagnose and resolve defects and improve software reliability.
• Create documentation such as system architecture diagrams and API specs.

• Serves as a recognized technical expert in specific areas within the team, leading the creation of software designs and providing guidance on best practices.
• Takes on moderately complex software development tasks, collaborating with senior team members to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet project requirements.
• Develops and executes comprehensive test plans, including unit, integration, and system tests, to ensure software reliability, performance, and adherence to specifications.
• Conducts thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, identify potential bugs, and promote best practices in software development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality code.
• Supports DevOps in deploying software, setting, monitoring, and ensuring own performance metrics are met, while also defining, monitoring, and meeting broader performance and quality metrics.
• Diagnoses and resolves software defects by analyzing logs, reproducing issues, and implementing effective fixes to enhance software reliability and performance.

You Are a Great Fit If

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
• 4–8 years of experience with Vocational Education in areas such as Software Development, Software Design and Architecture, Testing and Quality Assurance or equivalent.
