Job summary

Omnissa is seeking a Software/Sr. Software Engineer (macOS) for the DEEM platform. The role sits in a hybrid Chennai/Bangalore setup, with three days in the local office and two days remote.

You will contribute to design and code reviews, improve CI/CD pipelines, and handle escalations while delivering secure, high-performance macOS solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong C++/Swift skills, deep macOS framework knowledge, and hands-on experience with packaging, CMake, and testing.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++, Swift, and C++/Swift interoperability.
• Strong knowledge of macOS frameworks: Endpoint Security, Network Extension, Security, System Configuration, CoreFoundation & IOKit
• Solid understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and inter-process communication (Unix domain sockets, XPC)
• Experience with network programming: TLS/OpenSSL, HTTP client/server libraries
• Familiarity with macOS code signing, notarization, and Gatekeeper requirements
• Hands-on experience with macOS packaging tools: pkgbuild, productbuild, Distribution XML, and installer pre/post scripts
• Hands-on experience with CMake in a cross-platform C++ environment
• Ability to measure and optimize for performance using macOS profiling and instrumentation tools
• Strong commitment to unit testing (Google Test or similar), code coverage, code quality, and static analysis tools

Responsibilities

• Identify process or pipeline improvements to increase team efficiency
• Participate in the on-call rotation
• Champion engineering initiatives and foster a culture of high ownership, continuous improvement, and excellence

Location

Chennai/Bangalore. Location Type: HYBRID. This role offers a balanced arrangement, with the expectation of working 3 days a week in our local office and the flexibility to work from home for the remaining days. It is essential that you reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the office location for the in‑office workdays.

Travel Expectations

10% of travel, Domestic/International only if business demands.

Team & Leadership

This role reports to the Engineering Manager, DEEM. The team is based out of Chennai & Bangalore and is a close‑knit group of senior engineers with deep experience delivering our DEX Agent to the world’s largest companies. We work closely with our counterparts in the US to drive key platform improvements focused on security, service availability, resilience, and cost reduction. The success of our customers is our highest priority.
