Job description

Job Description:

Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) builds the products that power infrastructure, solutions, and data management our customers need most. Our teams design and develop the hardware and software that connect infrastructure, accelerate computational workloads, integrate across the stack, protect data continuity, and deliver the platforms, applications, and diagnostics our customers rely on every day at enterprise scale.

Some product builders follow the rules. Ours rewrite them.

Within ISG, innovation isnt just about creating new technology- its about challenging assumptions and reimagining how work gets done. Engineers define intent, author precise specifications, and orchestrate AI agents that execute at speed and scale. AI is embedded throughout our development process, helping us move faster, learn quicker, and deliver greater impact. Yet the most important contribution remains uniquely human: deciding what to build, designing how it should work, and applying the judgment needed to earn our customers trust. When your products power critical infrastructure around the world, that responsibility matters.

We move quickly toward the work that matters most. We reward experimentation, encourage bold thinking, and remove unnecessary barriers so great ideas can become reality faster. Our teams embrace a customer-first, first-to-market mindset, transforming rapid feedback into better products and better outcomes. We arent looking for people who are content with the status quo- we look for builders who question it, improve it, and occasionally rewrite it.

If youre energized by solving complex systems challenges, excited to work alongside AI to amplify your impact, and motivated by the opportunity to shape whats next instead of simply maintaining whats been done before, youll find your place here.

Join us and help build the future of enterprise technology.
Principal DevOps / Software Engineer (Cloud Orchestration & Platform Engineering)

The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Software Principal Engineer on our Software Engineering Team in Bangalore, India.

What you’ll achieve

As a Principal DevOps / Software Engineer, you will architect, build, and evolve the cloud automation, orchestration, and platform capabilities that power our global development ecosystem. You will work deeply within our VMware‑based infrastructure stack, spanning Aria Automation, Aria Operations, VCF, ESXi, and vCenter, while driving modernization toward next‑generation VCF Operations and AI‑enabled orchestration frameworks.

You will partner closely with our software engineering Scrum teams to deliver resilient, intelligent, and scalable automation services that enhance developer productivity, streamline reservation and deployment workflows, and maintain the reliability of critical DevOps tool chains. Your leadership will influence both technology strategy and hands‑on implementation across complex hybrid‑cloud environments.

You will:
  • Design, implement, and evolve cloud automation and orchestration workflows for VMware‑based platforms, including Aria Automation/Operations and emerging VCF Operations
  • Architect and maintain integrations with ServiceNow, reservation systems, deployment services, and asset management platforms supporting global engineering teams
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain automation pipelines and services supporting virtual and physical asset provisioning
  • Lead modernization initiatives as Aria is modernized, transitioning orchestration capabilities into new VCF‑based platforms and intelligent automation ecosystems
  • Create automation frameworks, APIs, and services enabling self‑service provisioning, developer tooling, and global platform operations
  • Collaborate closely within Agile/SCRUM teams to design high‑quality automation, observability, and platform capabilities aligned with product engineering needs
  • Drive architectural discussions, document solutions, and mentor engineering peers in DevOps engineering, platform automation, and VMware‑centered cloud technologies
  • Champion secure‑by‑design engineering practices, reliable CI/CD methodologies, and scalable operational patterns across the stack

  • Extensive hands‑on experience with VMware Aria Automation (vRA/vRealize), Aria Operations, and orchestration tooling, including lifecycle management, blueprints, policies, and extensibility
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and developing complex automation pipelines, including API‑driven workflows, infrastructure‑as‑code, and multi‑platform integrations

  • Experience integrating DevOps automation with ServiceNow, including CMDB synchronization, workflow automation, and custom orchestration triggers
  • Deep understanding of cloud automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, Git‑based workflows, and enterprise DevOps practices

  • Experience with ServiceNow development, including scripting, custom integrations, API development, and platform configuration
  • Exposure to IPAM solutions or network services automation (e.g., Infoblox or equivalent)
  • Strong familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies and enterprise SDLC practices
  • Experience with GitOps and container‑oriented tooling such as Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize, or related platforms
  • Exposure to Agentic AI / GenAI as applied to workflow automation, intelligent orchestration, or advanced developer tooling
