Job summary

BT Group is seeking an experienced GIS Product/UX professional to lead end-to-end spatial UI/UX across the lifecycle of network assets and processes. The role focuses on translating complex inventory models into scalable map-based interfaces and integrated processflows.

You will collaborate with platform, GIS, integration, and delivery teams to ensure architecture alignment, data quality, and field readiness.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of experience in GIS Product / UX for enterprise platforms.
• Strong experience with processflow heavy, role-based systems.
• Proven experience developing GIS-enabled or map-based applications.
• Experience integrating with field applications, processflow tools and address/location systems.
• Ability to design data-intensive, spatially complex interfaces (maps + tables + processes).
• Knowledge of map interaction patterns (layering, selection, navigation).
• Excellent collaboration with engineering and integration teams.

What youll be doing

• Lead the develop of end-to-end user experiences across the PNI lifecycle (planning, develop, build, operate, maintain)
• Translate complex network inventory models (assets, connectivity, topology) into intuitive, scalable UI/UX
• Develop GIS-enabled, map-centric applications to visualise and interact with physical network assets and their spatial relationships
• Create Process flow-driven applications, including:
  • Work order lifecycle (plan build handover operations)
  • Asset creation, updates, and validation
  • Network traceability, routing, and impact analysis
• Develop integrated spatial + enterprise processflows, connecting PNI with:
  • Field applications (for on-site data capture and updates)
  • Processflow management systems (task orchestration, approvals, lifecycle tracking)
  • Address management systems (location validation, address matching, serviceability)
• Create multi-view interfaces combining:
  • Map views (GIS layers, asset overlays)
  • Tabular datasets (asset records, attributes)
  • Processflow panels (tasks, forms, validations)
• Enable real-time and near real-time data interactions across integrated systems to ensure consistency between network develop, field execution, and operational updates
• Collaborate with platform, GIS, integration, and delivery teams to ensure develops align with architecture and system interoperability
• Develop for data quality, spatial accuracy, and validation workflows, including handling of geospatial conflicts, address mismatches, and field discrepancies
• Define and maintain standards and reusable patterns for:
  • Map interactions (zoom, layering, selection, tracing)
  • Cross-system Processflow and handoffs
  • Data validation and exception management
• Facilitate develop workshops, usability testing, and field-user validation with planners, engineers, and operations teams
• Support Product Owners and delivery teams in backlog refinement with clear processflow, integration

Essential Skills / Experience

• 6–10+ years of experience in GIS Product / UX for enterprise platforms
• Strong experience developing processflow heavy, role-based systems
• Proven experience working with GIS-enabled or map-based applications
• Experience developing systems that integrate with:
  • Field applications
  • Processflow management tools
  • Address/location management systems
• Ability to develop data-intensive and spatially complex interfaces, including:
  • Large datasets (assets, attributes)
  • Hierarchical/network relationships
  • Multi-view layouts (map + table + Process flow)
• Strong understanding of map interaction patterns such as:
  • Layer management
  • Feature selection and editing
