Role Purpose

As a Software Manager, you will lead, inspire, and support a product-focused engineering team building solutions used daily by technicians and operators of CAT earthmoving and paving machines.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will balance writing code and shaping technical architecture with coaching talent and ensuring high‑quality delivery across embedded Linux, Android, and web components.

What You Bring to the Team

Required Technical Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of total software development experience, including 2+ years in formal technical leadership or engineering management roles.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
• Core C++ & Linux: Strong, hands‑on C++ development experience tailored for Embedded Linux environments.
• Systems Expertise: Deep understanding of embedded systems, concurrency, multi‑threading, and performance optimisation.
• Sensors & Positioning: Familiarity with high‑accuracy positioning and sensor technologies (GNSS, IMU, Laser, Optical, Sonic).
• Modern Tooling: High proficiency with Git, CI/CD integration pipelines, automated testing, and structured code review workflows.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Web technology exposure with Angular and TypeScript.
• System-level understanding of Caterpillar heavy equipment, hydraulics, or machine control systems.
• Background in robotics, machine control, or autonomous guidance systems.
• Familiarity with industrial safety standards and field deployment for machine‑impacting software.
