Job summary

Kotak Mahindra Bank is hiring an SDE-2 in Hyderabad to design, develop and deliver scalable software solutions. You will participate in the full SDLC, contribute to architecture, and work on microservices using Java/J2EE or Python.

Knowledge of cloud, containers and messaging systems is desirable. The role emphasizes collaboration with product, analytics and engineering teams to transform digital banking offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
• Experience in building scalable software solutions in a product engineering environment
• Strong programming background with Java/J2EE or Python and Spring stack
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Experience with microservices architecture, CI/CD, and cloud services
• Familiarity with banking/fintech domain is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices.
• Involved in all SDLC phases including requirements, architecture, documentation and coding of modules.
• Identify and troubleshoot code-related issues.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure alignment with architecture.
• Assist design reviews and translate requirements into designs and data flows.
• Collaborate in project planning with PMs, BAs and team members to propose solutions.

What We Ask For

• Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices.
• Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.
• Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues.
• Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre- defined architectural specifications.
• Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows.
• Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

Qualifications

• Should have strong technical background in JAVA, J2EE or Python, Spring stack
• Well versed with OOP’s concept and design patterns
• Good understanding of data structure and algorithms
• Strong experience with Database systems like RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle etc.) and NoSQL (Dynamo, MongoDB etc.)
• Experience in building Microservices and knowledge of workflow orchestration with Camunda or Temporal
• Knowledge of docker and containerization.
• Should have good experience in using messaging platforms like Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
• Knowledge in CI/CD Pipeline and Dev Ops tools
• Knowledge in Cloud Services such as AWS or Azure
• Should be familiar with Domain Driven Design
• Passionate and having depth knowledge in agile, Kanban process
• Should be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Manage scope, timelines, quality, goals and deliverables that supports business
• Good communications skills
• Prior work experience in the product engineering/development.
• Good to have prior experience in Indian Banking segment and/or Fintech.
