Job summary

SBS is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer for its Noida-based hybrid team. You will design and deliver Java-based solutions, work on REST services, and collaborate with global teams to drive architectural decisions. The role emphasizes DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud deployment for banking software initiatives.

Ideal candidates have strong Java and Spring expertise, experience with microservices, databases, and modern tooling, and a collaborative mindset to accelerate product delivery.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience delivering solutions based on Java and open‑source technologies.
• Experience implementing REST services and scalable backend architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Java 8+ and modern frameworks like Spring and Spring Batch.
• Experience with MongoDB or PostgreSQL, microservices, Redis caching, Angular UI, and cloud computing.

Responsibilities

• Lead solution design and development in a Java-based stack for banking/fintech products.
• Contribute to defining product architecture roadmap and end-to-end delivery of releases.
• Mentor teams, improve engineering practices, and promote Agile/DevOps culture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business lines to align on architecture and timelines.
• Build resilient, scalable services and advocate for quality and automation.

Responsibilities

• 6-8+ years of overall experience in IT in solution designing and development
• Good experience with agile software development in Java
• Good to have: Experience configuring, administering, and deploying development CI/CD tools such as Git, GitLab, and Jenkins, scripting, and Python
• Good to have:Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as Terraform and Ansible
• Good to have: Experience in AWS SDK CLI, Code deploy, and other services
• Contributing to defining product architecture roadmap and supporting end-to-end delivery of the product releases & communication with different stakeholders
• Build software products for banking and financing institutions with R&D teams that are openly collaborative, non-hierarchical, respect contributions, and work with agility
• Enable, empower, and encourage teams for continuous improvement of technology and processes
• Challenging and supporting people and engineering practices to improve the quality of the product
• Supporting the governance of the product team to ensure the quality and efficiency of solutions
• Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services
• Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
• Act as a mentor to the team and reinforce organisational values and culture
• Exposure on defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for engineering operation

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher engineering degree in Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent additional professional experience.
• Hands-on experience in delivering solutions based on Java and open-source technologies as an engineer in global organizations.
• Good exposure on implementing REST services.
• Hands-on experience with Java 8 or higher, Spring, Spring batch, MongoDB or PostgreSQL, microservices architecture, Reactive programming (optional), Redis (caching), Angular (GUI), and Cloud computing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent data structures & algorithms skills with exposure to digital transformation and digital technologies
• Strong communicator with ability to collaborate, build relationships, and support in achieving broader organisational goals
• Good to have understanding of low code, no code platforms for end to end implementation.
• Good exposure to working with large enterprise-grade components
• Good experience and understanding of working in an agile environment
• Good understanding of DevOps processes (CI/CD pipeline)
• Self-starter who can take initiative and get things done with minimal guidance.
• Prior experience in Banking or the finance domain is a plus, but not necessary.
