Job summary

Pocket FM in Bengaluru is seeking a driven SDET-1 with 2–3 years of experience to own quality end-to-end for Android and iOS apps. You will design test strategies, build automation, validate analytics and payment flows, and champion quality across cross‑functional teams.

This hands-on role requires breaking things thoughtfully and building tooling to prevent failures, with collaboration across Product, Android, iOS, and Backend teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of Manual and Automation Testing for Android and iOS apps.
• Strong coding skills in Java or Python.
• Experience with Appium, XCUITest, Espresso, or PyTest.
• Experience with API testing and SQL/database validation.
• Familiar with CI/CD workflows and Git.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans, test cases, and regression suites for Android and iOS apps.
• Build and enhance mobile automation frameworks using Java/Python + Appium.
• Perform API testing (REST APIs, authentication, payloads, and status codes).
• Validate analytics and event tracking using tools like Charles Proxy.
• Test critical user journeys including ads, payments, in-app purchases, coin economy, and content unlocks.
• Perform SQL-based database validation to ensure data integrity.
• Identify, track, and drive defects through resolution.
• Improve automation, test coverage, and CI/CD quality practices.
• Collaborate with Product, Android, iOS, and Backend teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline testing and boost efficiency.

Role Overview

We are looking for a driven SDET-1 with 2–3 years of experience to help us deliver a flawless watch experience across our Android and iOS apps. You'll own quality end-to-end — from understanding requirements and designing test strategies, to building automation, validating analytics and payment flows, and championing quality across cross-functional teams. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys both breaking things thoughtfully and building the tooling that keeps them from breaking.

Skills and Qualifications

Must Have Skills

• 2–3 years of experience in Manual & Automation Testing for Android and iOS applications.
• Strong coding skills in Java or Python.
• Hands‑on experience with Swift + XCUITest, Kotlin + Espresso, or Python + PyTest.
• Experience with API testing (Postman, Charles Proxy) and SQL/database validation.
• Good understanding of CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions/Jenkins/GitLab CI) and Git.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and test design skills.

Good to Have Skills

• Experience building test automation frameworks (Appium, TestNG, Selenium).
• Exposure to analytics/event validation, payment & ad flow testing.
• Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools (Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude Code, etc.).
• Experience working in Agile, cross‑functional teams.
