Job summary

Frontlyne is seeking a Senior Tester to own the testing strategy for our web and mobile apps and to build a robust automation framework from scratch. You will decide what to automate, define architecture, and ensure high-quality releases as we scale.

You will collaborate with developers, write and execute tests (functional, regression, UI), and drive testing processes in a fast-paced Agile environment in Bengaluru.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of software testing experience with a strong automation background.

Whom were looking for:

We're looking for a Senior Tester who has built test automation from the ground up and can bring that ownership to our mobile and web applications. You won't just be writing test cases - you'll be shaping how we test, deciding what to automate, and establishing the practices that keep quality high as we scale. This role suits someone who thinks like an engineer, takes pride in a robust test suite, and is comfortable making tooling decisions and defending them.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the testing strategy across our web and mobile (Android/iOS) applications
• Design, build, and maintain an automation framework from scratch - selecting the right tools and architecture for our stack
• Identify what to automate vs. test manually, and steadily grow automation coverage
• Write and execute manual and automated tests: functional, regression, integration, UI, and cross-platform
• Help create and maintain test cases, checklists, and test documentation
• Verify bug fixes and re-test resolved issuesTrack and report quality metrics (coverage, defect trends, release readiness)
• Collaborate with developers to understand features and reproduce reported problems
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and report on testing progress

Required Skills:

• Ability to work independently and take ownership
• 3-5 years of experience in software testing, with a meaningful portion in test automation
• Proven track record of building a test automation framework or process from scratch - not just maintaining or extending an existing one
• Strong grasp of automation fundamentals: framework design, locators/selectors, waits, data-driven and page-object patterns, reporting
• Tool-agnostic mindset - we care that you can pick the right tool and justify the choice, not which specific tool you've used (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, etc. are all fine)
• Solid understanding of the testing lifecycle, test design techniques, and defect management
• A sharp eye for detail and the patience to dig into edge cases
• Good communication and team collaboration
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Should be comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment

Preferred Add-on Experience:

• API testing and automation (Postman, REST-assured, or similar)
• Performance or load testing exposure
• Mentoring or leading a small QA effort
