Flight Centre Travel Group is seeking an experienced Python Developer to design and deliver scalable Python applications, integrate with enterprise systems, and explore AI-driven solutions including LLMs and Gen AI.

You will build and deploy Python services, collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement RESTful APIs, and ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability across production environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience.
• Django, FastAPI, or Flask proficiency.
• Strong REST API and JSON basics; API testing experience.
• Unit testing, debugging, and automation skills (YAML, CI/CD).
• Git/version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Good problem-solving and debugging abilities.
• Experience with AWS or Azure is desirable.

We are looking for an experienced Python Developer with strong expertise in application development, system integrations, and AI-driven solutions. You will build and deploy scalable Python applications, integrate with enterprise systems, and work with emerging technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and Agentic AI

Day In The Life

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust Python applications
• Deploy and manage Python applications in production environments
• Integrate Python-based solutions with Java applications and third-party APIs
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs for seamless system communication
• Build AI-powered solutions leveraging LLMs, Generative AI, and Agentic AI frameworks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
• Follow software development best practices, including version control and CI/CD processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across applications and integrations

You’ll Be Perfect For The Role If You Have

Must-Have Skills

• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in Python development
• Strong proficiency in Python frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and proven experience building JSON-based RESTful APIs
• Experience with Postman or similar API testing/mocking tools
• Proficient in unit testing, debugging, and automation techniques (e.g., YAML, CI/CD)
• Knowledge of Git, version control workflows, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Cloud & Backend Engineering

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Experience deploying and maintaining Python applications in production environments
• Hands‑on experience integrating Python applications with Java systems and third-party services
• Experience developing and consuming APIs for seamless communication between enterprise systems
• Prior experience as a Backend Engineer on performant, scalable service architectures
• Ability to optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability

AI & Application Development

• Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI application development
• Ability to build AI-powered solutions using LLMs, Generative AI, and Agentic AI frameworks
• Strong understanding of DevOps culture, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, working closely with cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

• Experience working on Generative AI or Agentic AI projects
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Microservices Architecture
• Understanding of scalable and distributed systems
• Familiarity with New Relic or other APM tools
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
