Siemens EDA seeks a highly motivated software engineer with strong C/C++, DS, Algorithms, and Qt background to join the QuestaSim (Simulation) R&D team. You will design, develop, and optimize high-performance software for simulation debug and visualization workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include building core debug engines, data models, indexing structures, and scalable data handling for multi-million-signal simulations.

• 12+ years of progressive software engineering experience with C/C++, DS, Algorithms, and Qt.
• Experience shaping open-ended problems and driving ideas to completion.
• Strong programming foundation and experience building high-performance systems.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced software engineer with a strong background in C/C++, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Qt to join the QuestaSim (Simulation) R&D team at Siemens EDA. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize high-performance C/C++ software for simulation debug and visualization workflows, solving complex, open-ended problems in collaboration with a senior group of engineers in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance C/C++ software for simulation debug and visualization workflows.


• Build and enhance core debug engines, including data models, indexing structures, and visualization backends.


• Develop scalable data structures and algorithms to handle very large simulation datasets.


• Contribute to the development and enhancement of production-quality components, algorithms, and engines while supporting and improving existing codebases.


• Solve complex, open-ended problems in collaboration with a senior group of engineers in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


• Improve performance, memory efficiency, and scalability for multi-million-signal, long-running simulations.


• Stay self-motivated, disciplined, and focused while driving innovation within the team.

Qualifications

Required:

• 12+ years of progressive software engineering experience with a strong background in C/C++, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Qt.


• Experience with conceptualizing, defining, architecting, and implementing an open-ended problem scope or new ideas.


• Strong proficiency in programming languages like C/C++, along with a strong foundation in algorithms and data structures.


• Experience designing high-performance, large-scale systems software.


• Strong understanding of Compiler Concepts, Optimizations, and parallel computing.


• Experience working on UNIX and/or LINUX platforms.


• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.


• Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and deliver results.


• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.

Preferred:

• Basic knowledge of Digital Electronics and concepts related to SystemVerilog, Verilog, and VHDL.


• Exposure to Simulation technologies or Formal-based Verification methodologies.
