Job summary

Chalhoub Group's Capability Hub in Bengaluru is hiring a senior mobile engineer to build native and cross-platform apps for iOS and Android, using React Native, TypeScript, and Expo. You will implement APIs, manage state, and contribute to secure, high-performance customer experiences across platforms.

You will lead code reviews, establish metrics, collaborate with product and design, and adopt AI-assisted development with Claude Code.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with leadership in large tech teams.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native development (AWS/GCP/Azure), Kubernetes, Terraform, and React Native.
• Strong command of secure coding, test automation, CI/CD, observability, and app security.
• Proven track record building and leading multi-team engineering organizations and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain native and cross-platform mobile apps for iOS and Android.
• Develop cross-platform features with React Native, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Integrate GraphQL and REST APIs and manage mobile state.
• Optimize performance and security, implement push notifications and deep linking.
• Integrate monitoring (Firebase, Datadog) for stability and issue resolution.

• Support App Store and Play Store delivery and release readiness.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality.

What you'll be doing

Build and maintain native and cross-platform mobile applications, contributing to reliable, high-performing, and secure customer experiences across iOS and Android.

• Build and maintain cross-platform (React Native) mobile application features using JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Develop with Expo, Expo Router, and EAS Build, Submit, and Update, and integrate native modules for device and platform capabilities.
• Implement and consume GraphQL and REST APIs, and manage mobile state management for reliable data flow.
• Optimize mobile performance and mobile security, and implement push notifications and deep linking.
• Integrate monitoring and crash analytics (Firebase, Datadog) to proactively identify and resolve stability and performance issues.
• Write and maintain automated, unit, functional, and regression tests, and support CI/CD delivery via Bitrise.
• Support App Store and Play Store delivery, including release management, provisioning, and submission readiness.
• Provide deployment support, production issue resolution, and release reliability across mobile releases.
• Participate in code reviews, perform defect resolution and technical troubleshooting, and uphold code quality standards.
• Deliver assigned scope dependably on time with strong quality ownership, collaborating with product, design, and engineering, and using Claude Code for AIassisted development.
• Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the impact of AI tools and engineering practices on development velocity, code quality, and team productivity.

What you’ll need to succeed

• 3 or more years of software engineering experience, including significant tenure in senior engineering leadership roles within large, multi-team technology organizations.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native development (AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, SFCC, Shopify, React Native, Fluent), API-first design, across large-scale digital platforms.
• Strong command of engineering excellence disciplines including secure coding, test automation, CI/CD, observability, and application security across ecommerce, mobile, APIs, cloud, reliability, security, and quality engineering.
• Proven track record building and leading large, multi-team engineering organizations, including manager development, organization design, workforce and capacity planning, and delivery governance.
• Experience owning engineering budgets and vendor management and governing responsible AI adoption and AI-assisted development at organizational scale.
