Job summary

Innominds Software in Pune is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to drive cloud-native IoT backend work. You will design, build, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain cloud services, with a focus on AWS, serverless patterns, and data integration.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile setup, contribute to code reviews, and apply best practices for reliability, security, and observability while leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, CS, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional Software Engineer experience in enterprise/product environments.
• Strong cloud-based backend development experience (AWS, serverless, APIs, SQL/NoSQL).
• Backend work with Java/Kotlin and Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain cloud-native backend services for the IoT Cloud platform.
• Implement scalable, secure solutions using AWS services and serverless patterns.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, developers, QA, DevOps, and integration teams.

Job Description:

What does the role involve? In this role, you will contribute as a hands-on software engineer in the IoT Cloud area. You will design, build, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain cloud-native backend services and integrations. The work involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, implement robust technical solutions, ensure code quality, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve the reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability of IoT Cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain cloud-native backend services for the Hilti IoT Cloud platform.
• Implement scalable and secure solutions using AWS services, serverless patterns, event-driven architecture, APIs, and data stores.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and integration teams to deliver agreed features and technical improvements.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and actively participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Support troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, monitoring, and operational improvements for cloud services.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Kiro, Claude, or GitHub Copilot to accelerate requirement understanding, solution design, coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting where appropriate.
• Contribute to documentation, implementation notes, and knowledge transfer required for smooth handover and long-term maintainability.

What you need is

• Bachelors or masters degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, preferably in an enterprise or product engineering environment
• Strong hands-on experience in the design, development, deployment, and operation of cloud-based applications and services
• Solid experience with AWS, serverless application development, event-driven architecture, APIs, and SQL / NoSQL databases
• Good backend development experience with JVM-based technologies such as Java/Kotlin and Python.
• Experience with IoT platforms, connected products, device data processing, backend integrations, or cloud data pipelines is highly desirable
• Understanding of software engineering practices including clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and operational reliability
• Practical understanding or experience with AI-based development tools such as Kiro, Claude, or GitHub Copilot to improve engineering productivity and quality is preferred.
• Experience with microservice development using Java and Spring or Quarkus is an advantage
• Ability to work independently as a contractor while collaborating effectively with distributed agile teams
• Very good written and spoken English communication skills
