Job summary

Maropost is seeking an experienced Java backend developer to design and build production-grade services for a SaaS ecommerce platform. You will work with a collaborative engineering team on architecture decisions, API design, and scalable systems.

You will contribute to REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, and cloud-native deployments using Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern tooling. Strong communication and ownership are expected as part of Maropost’s fast‑growing journey.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in Java development and building production backend applications.
• Strong knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience developing backend services, APIs, and distributed applications.
• 2+ years of experience with SQL databases, including schema design and data modelling.
• Experience with message-based/event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ or similar).
• REST APIs and/or GraphQL experience.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes or cloud-native infrastructure.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery.
• Understanding of automated testing, code quality, refactoring, and code reviews.
• Experience with Git and modern software workflows.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and communication abilities.
• Ability to take ownership and drive improvements.

Responsibilities
