Job summary

All about the role:

As a Software Engineer In Test, you will take part in end-to-end test automation activities for major initiatives across multiple regions, such as CRM, Contact Center, AI, and Service Operations rollouts. You will be responsible for supporting with test automation solutions, from development through to technical go-live. Your role will involve interacting with senior leaders and stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams, and driving timely, high-quality test automation.

About the CDI Experience Organization:

The Consumer Direct Interaction Experience Organization is a Digital Product Organization responsible for delivering tech solutions to our end-users and consumers across both pre-purchase and post-purchase journeys. We are organized in 15+ digital product areas, providing solutions ranging from Contact Center, E-commerce, Marketing, and Identity to AI. You will play a key role in ensuring the right sizing, right skillset, and core competency across these product areas.

What you’ll do:

• Framework Development: Contribute to, maintain and enhance the test automation framework by adding new capabilities and improving maintainability. Ensure the framework supports scalability, modularity, and cross-platform compatibility. Be ready to jump into unknown areas and quickly implement the most suitable solutions.
• - Design and Develop AI‑Driven Test Engine: Architect and implement a scalable test automation engine that integrates AI agents to generate test scenarios and optimize test execution.
• - Backend Development: Build robust backend services, APIs, and core logic for orchestrating the setup, managing test workflows, and processing results efficiently.
• - Frontend Development: Create an intuitive and user‑friendly frontend interface that enables users to configure tests, monitor execution, and visualize results.
• Test Script Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust and reusable test automation scripts. Work with different application layers: UI, API, database, and possibly mobile or desktop apps. Implement and maintain utilities and test libraries. If required support developers with unit tests.
• Test Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with QA leads and developers to define what to automate, when, and how. Ensure test automation is integrated in the CI/CD pipeline and supports continuous testing.
• Test Execution & Maintenance: Regularly run automated tests and analyze results. Identify and troubleshoot test failures, escalating issues when needed. Maintain and update existing test cases and CI/CD pipelines as applications evolve.
• Troubleshooting & Debugging: Investigate test failures and identify root causes— whether it’s a test issue, application defect, or environment problem. Provide quick and effective fixes or workarounds.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and product owners to ensure alignment on testing objectives. Mentor junior team members on automation best practices and tool usage.
• Code Quality & Version Control: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient automation code. Perform code reviews for junior engineers and provide constructive feedback. Ensure adherence to automation coding standards and version control practices.
• Test Data & Environment Handling: Set up or manage basic test data for automated runs. Run tests across different environments and report inconsistencies.
• Documentation: Document automated tests and provide clear test case descriptions. Keep test coverage and automation status updated in tracking tools like Jira, TestRail, or similar.

Who are you:

• Desired hands-on experience testing order fulfillment for e-commerce with main focus on SAP Commerce (ccv2) and SAP ECC SD/MM
• Proven experience in building test framework, application development and building applications, working with git. Solid experience with API automation testing, microservices solutions, setting up CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or similar. Great experience with Docker or similar.
• Agile methodology: Experience in working in an Agile environment and comfortable in dynamic settings and requirements. You thrive as fast-paced and are an independent contributor with no support required to drive assigned tasks forward with precision and efficiency.
• Communication & Collaboration: Proficient in cross-functional communication with a demonstrated ability to facilitate team communication and knowledge sharing sessions.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with latest development tools and processes, DevOps practices and Cloud solutions like Azure, AWS or similar, Robot Framework, Selenium Grid and reporting tools like Grafana, Report Portal or similar.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for automation improvement or technical debt reduction. Stay current with industry trends, tools, and emerging practices.
• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
