Job summary

Insight is seeking a Senior Software Developer (Java/Kotlin) - Data Migration to build a reliable tool that migrates millions of records from SaaS and PHP sources into a Java and MongoDB product. You will own the solution from design through validation, ensuring complete, accurate, and business-ready data.

You will implement ETL processes, validation checks, and work with the target-system team to align data structures.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend development with Java and/or Kotlin, Spring Boot and/or Quarkus.
• Experience with SQL, MongoDB, ORM/ODM concepts, and large-volume data processing.
• Background jobs and batch processing using Spring Batch or BPMN engine, incl. failure recovery.
• Knowledge of migration mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and data integrity checks; AI code-generation tools.

Responsibilities

• Build extraction, transformation, loading, and batch-processing mechanisms for large data volumes.
• Implement validation and reconciliation controls to identify missing/duplicate/inconsistent records.
• Align data structures with the target-system team and validate imported data.
• Identify migration risks, improve performance/reliability, use AI code-generation tools, and report progress.

What we’re looking for

• 6+ years of backend development experience using Java and/or Kotlin, with Spring Boot and/or Quarkus.
• Experience with SQL, MongoDB, ORM/ODM concepts, and large-volume data processing.
• Experience with background jobs and batch processing using Spring Batch or a BPMN engine, including failure recovery.
• Knowledge of migration mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, integrity checks, and AI code-generation tools.
