Job summary

Astreya China is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products. You will also develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms.

You will work with cross-functional teams to implement solutions, configure third-party components, perform root cause analysis, and provide end-user support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) with 2 to 5 years’ related experience or equivalent
• Builds productive internal and external working relationships
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices
• Understanding of various development programs
• Ability to quickly learn customer support processes, tools and techniques
• Understanding of configuring third-party software components and technologies
• Ability to perform root cause analysis of network, OS, and other issues
• Excellent communication skills in English (speaking and writing)

• Ability to multi-task and self-organize including prioritization
• Understanding of using monitoring systems

Responsibilities

• Provide administration, development, and application support for end users
• Participate in the design, develop, code, test and debug system software
• Review code and design software
• Participate in configuring and integrating third-party software components and technologies
• Engage in root cause analysis of network, operating system, and other issues in customer environments
• Address and resolve software bugs and bug reproduction requests; log incidents and coordinate resources
• Provide limited after hours and on-call support as needed
• Engage in review and development of test documentation
• Work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives

What this Job Entails:

The Software Engineer designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products. They will also develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms.

Scope:

• Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
• Works on problems of moderate scope
• Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide administration, development, and application support for end users
• Participate in the design, develop, code, test and debug system software
• Review code and design software
• Participate in configuring and integrating third-party software components and technologies
• Engage in performing root cause analysis of network, operating system, and other issues related to how technical solutions operate in customer environments
• Address and resolve software bugs and bug reproduction requests; logging of all incidents and requests; engaging other service desk resources or appropriate service resources to resolve incidents that are beyond the scope of their ability or responsibility
• Provide limited after hours and on-call support as needed
• Engage in review and development of test documentation
• Work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Understanding of various development programs
