Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned SAP data & analytics professional to design and optimize SAP Datasphere data models, views, and data flows. You will write advanced SQL scripts, debug load failures, and tune performance across complex pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions aligned with business needs.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in SAP data & analytics
4+ years of hands-on exposure to SAP Datasphere or SAP Data Warehouse Cloud and/or SAP BDC
Strong SQL scripting, including complex queries, stored procedures, and HANA SQL Script
Experience with data modeling, data flows, replication flows, and task chains
Ability to debug issues across data flows and connections
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
SAP certification in Datasphere / BW/4HANA / HANA is nice to have

Responsibilities

Design and build SAP Datasphere data models, views, and data flows aligned to business reporting needs
Write and optimize SQL/SQL Script transformations, calculated views, and custom logic
Debug data load failures and perform root-cause analysis and fixes
Monitor and tune performance of models, data flows, and queries
Collaborate with business and functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data models
Document data models, data lineage, and design decisions
Stay current with SAP Datasphere roadmap and suggest adoption of new capabilities
Provide documentation, status updates, and user communication
Support SIT/UAT, deployments, and production operations

Job description

Design and build SAP Datasphere data models, views, and data flows aligned to business reporting needs
Write and optimize SQL/SQL Script transformations, calculated views, and custom logic
Debug data load failures, connection issues, and modeling errors; perform root-cause analysis and implement fixes
Monitor and tune performance of models, data flows, and queries
Recommend and implement improvements to data models and pipelines
Collaborate with business and functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data models
Document data models, data lineage, and technical design decisions
Stay current with the SAP Datasphere and BDC roadmap and suggest adoption of new capabilities
Expand skills into broader SAP functional concepts
Work collaboratively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and management
Support requirements gathering, solution design, SIT/UAT testing, deployments, and production operations
Provide documentation, status updates, and user communication
Take ownership across multi-module business processes to support operational excellence and organizational goals

Requirements

5+ years of experience
4+ years of experience in SAP data & analytics, with recent hands-on exposure to SAP Datasphere or SAP Data Warehouse Cloud and/or SAP BDC
Primary skill: SAP Datasphere space and connection setup, graphical and SQL-based data modeling, data flows, replication flows, task chains, and data marketplace/data sharing concepts
Understanding of SAP Business Data Cloud architecture, including data products, Business Data Fabric, and integration with SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP HANA Cloud
Strong SQL scripting, including complex queries, stored procedures, table functions, and HANA SQL Script
Ability to debug issues across data flows, calculation views, replication jobs, and connections
Performance tuning knowledge including query optimization, partitioning, indexing strategies, memory/resource management, and bottleneck identification
Strong willingness to adapt and cross-train; ability to learn
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with clients in onsite/offshore models
Strong multitasking and priority-management abilities with accuracy and attention to detail
Quick learner able to grasp new technologies through instruction and self-training

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
SAP certification in Datasphere, BW/4HANA, or HANA is nice to have
Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP BTP, or Databricks integration within BDC is nice to have
Exposure to SAP Analytics Cloud for reporting/dashboarding is nice to have
Openness to developing functional knowledge in SAP modules such as FI/CO, SD, MM, or HCM
Familiarity with SAP HANA Cloud administration basics
Exposure to SAP FI/MM/SD modules
Experience in Agile or hybrid methodologies
SAP Central Finance knowledge
