Qualifications

• 2-4 years backend software engineering experience.
• Proficient in Go or Java and CS fundamentals.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and databases.

• Ability to own features/services end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Build and own backend services, REST APIs, and microservices from design through production.
• Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable application-layer systems.
• Work on distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, messaging, retries, and fault tolerance.

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join Socure’s global engineering team and build scalable, reliable backend systems that power our identity verification and fraud prevention products.

What You’ll Do

• Build and own backend services, REST APIs, and microservices from design through production.
• Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable application-layer systems.
• Work on distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, messaging, retries, and fault tolerance.
• Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Data Science/ML, and Engineering teams.
• Improve performance, reliability, observability, and engineering standards.
• Participate in technical design, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting.

What We’re Looking For

• 2-4 years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong coding skills in Go, Java, or a similar backend language.
• Solid computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, SQL/NoSQL databases, and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka/SQS/RabbitMQ, and CI/CD.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to take features/services end-to-end.
• Good communication skills and ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs clearly.
