Job summary

FC Global Services India LLP (First Citizens India) in Bengaluru seeks a Software Engineer I to join a hybrid team building the next generation online banking platform. You will work on middleware and backend REST APIs, collaborate with tech leads, and participate in agile ceremonies while delivering high-quality code.

The role requires 2–4 years of software development experience, strong Java skills (Java 17+), and experience with Spring Boot, SQL, NoSQL, and modern CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in CS or related field.
• 2–4 years of software development experience.
• Strong Java skills with Java 17+ and Spring Boot experience.
• Experience writing APIs and backend services with relational DBs (Oracle / PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with NoSQL DBs like Elastic or MongoDB.
• Basic to intermediate Node.js experience.
• CI/CD experience with GitLab/Bitbucket; containerization with Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Good debugging skills (Splunk or similar).

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy and support middleware and back-end REST APIs.
• Participate in a fast-paced Agile team and ceremonies.
• Collaborate with product owner and tech leads to plan stories and tasks.
• Write unit and end-to-end tests to ensure quality.
• Support build/deploy activities and monitor application logs.

About the Team: Impact The software developer will work on building and deploying the next generation online banking platform using cutting-edge technologies and work in a fast faced dynamic Agile team while interacting with multiple stakeholders like tech leads, product owners, scrum masters, app-security engineers etc.

Key Deliverables

• Develop, test, deploy and support middleware and back-end REST APIs and integrations
• Actively participate in a fast-paced Agile team and all its ceremonies
• Work closely with product owner, tech lead and collaborate with team to burn down stories and tasks efficiently
• Write unit and end to end tests to protect your code
• Support build and deployment activities, closely monitor application logs
• Be a good communicator and strive to always be part of the solution

Skills and Qualification

Functional Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills, self-starter.
• Collaborate with team members in India and the US and tackle complex technical problems
• Work in a fast-paced Agile environment with minimum supervision
• Passionate about technology and banking, open to learning

Technical Skills:

• Strong Java skills, preferably on Java 17+
• Intermediate level understanding of Java DS&A
• Experience writing APIs using Spring boot
• Strong SQL skills and experience writing queries for Oracle, Postgres DB
• Experience with no-SQL DBs like Elastic, Mongo or equivalent preferred
• Basic to intermediate experience on NodeJS
• Knowledge of CICD pipelines and tools like Gitlab, Bitbucket, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
• Experience writing end to end automation/ unit testing
• Strong debugging skills using Splunk etc.

Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

Overall 2-4 years of experience in Software Development

Relationships & Collaboration

• Participate actively in all Agile ceremonies
• Work closely with tech leads, software architects, product owners and scrum master’s to make sure deliverables are on track
• Cross-functional collaboration with multiple teams across India and US to find innovative solutions
