Job summary

Proximity Works in Bengaluru seeks a hands-on Golang backend developer to design scalable, high-performance services. You will own features end-to-end, build APIs and microservices, and contribute to critical platform migrations using Kafka, MySQL, and AWS.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, focus on reliability, testing, and quality, and help drive architectural decisions in a fast-paced environment. This is a 6-month contractual role with extension potential.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of backend Golang experience.
• Strong fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, system design.
• Experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
• Hands-on AWS cloud services experience.
• Event-driven systems experience with Kafka or similar messaging.
• Familiarity with microservices and REST APIs.
• Strong debugging and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang.

• Contribute to platform migrations, including Media Pipeline Migration to Temporal and Communication Platform Migration.
• Work with MySQL, Kafka, and AWS to build reliable, fault-tolerant systems.

• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance, reliability, and scalability.

A Golang Developer is responsible for building scalable, high-performance backend systems that power our platform. This role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, ownership, and the ability to develop reliable distributed systems that handle large-scale user traffic. The ideal candidate is a hands-on backend engineer with experience in Golang, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and event-driven architectures. You will work closely with engineering teams on critical platform initiatives and contribute to building robust, production-ready services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang.
• Build and optimize APIs, microservices, and distributed systems for high availability and performance.
• Contribute to key platform migration initiatives, including:
• Media Pipeline Migration to Temporal
• Communication Platform Migration
• Work with MySQL, Kafka, and AWS to build reliable, fault-tolerant systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features?from development and testing to deployment and monitoring.
• Continuously improve code quality, developer productivity, and engineering processes.

Requirements

Candidates who demonstrate:
