Why this job matters: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our development team and contribute to the delivery of world‑class web and mobile applications. In this role, you will help shape and execute the engineering strategy and roadmap that supports BT’s commercial goals, driving technical excellence, innovation, and high‑impact delivery across cross‑functional teams.

What you’ll be doing:

• Technical Ownership: Actively participate in solution design, coding, code reviews, and technical discussions to deliver robust and scalable applications.
• Web Application Development: Build, enhance, and maintain responsive and performant web applications using modern front‑end and back‑end technologies.
• Mobile Development: Develop and deploy Android and iOS applications leveraging Flutter and related technologies, following clean architecture principles.
• Quality Engineering: Implement Test‑Driven Development (TDD), automated testing, and continuous integration to ensure product stability and quality.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with fellow engineers, mentor junior team members, and contribute to a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage effectively with Product Owners, Designers, and Engineering teams to align on priorities, timelines, and outcomes.

The skills you’ll need:

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with 3 years hands‑on expertise in both web and mobile application development.
• Strong technical proficiency in React, Node.js, TypeScript, Next.js, React Hooks, Redux, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Demonstrable experience in Flutter development for mobile platforms.
• Solid understanding of API integrations, JSON, and GraphQL.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployments in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of modern development tooling, accessibility standards, and automation practices.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest) for unit and integration testing.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Focus on quality, automation, and metrics.
• Comfortable working within a design framework.
• Software configuration management (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, etc.).
• Knowledge of FE architecture and patterns.
• Able to translate user story requirements into brilliant digital experience.
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies and project management best practices.
