Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science/Math/Computer.
• Minimum 1 year of Java software development experience.
• Experience with backend technologies (Java/J2EE, SpringBoot, SOA, and microservices).
• Familiarity with Agile environments (Scrum, XP).
• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL).
• Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Github).

Responsibilities

• Design requirements for small to medium systems and document them.
• Apply software engineering principles and participate in release, code, and design reviews.
• Absorb information quickly and share knowledge with the team.
• Apply modern software practices (serverless, CI/CD, IaC) and collaborate across teams.
• Participate in architecture discussions to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Work in an Agile team and leverage automation within scope of effort.

What you'll do

• Design requirements on small systems or modules of medium systems (large scale) environment and technical documentation.
• Apply basic principles of software engineering and can follow instructions. Provide meaningful feedback on the release process, code review, and design review.
• Easily absorbs and applies new information. Displays a cooperative attitude and shares knowledge.
• Apply modern software development practices (serverless computing, microservices architecture, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, etc.). Work across teams to integrate our systems with existing corporate product platforms
• Participate in technology roadmap and architecture discussions to turn business requirements and vision into reality.
• Participate in a tight-knit engineering team employing agile software development practices. Leverage automation within scope of effort

What experience you need

• Bachelor's degree in Science/Math/Computer
• 1 year + experience with Java software programming experience
• Self-starter that identifies/responds to priority shifts with minimal supervision
• Experience with backend technologies such as JAVA/J2EE, SpringBoot, SOA and Microservices
• Agile environments (e.g. Scrum, XP)
• Relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, MySQL)
• Atlassian tooling (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, and Github)

What could set you apart

• 6 months+ experience with Cloud technology: GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Any active cloud certification
