Job summary

Visa is seeking a software engineer to design, code, test and maintain our Business Solutions B2B products. You will enhance existing code, implement RESTful services, and ensure scalable microservices with best practices in Java.

The role is hybrid, based in Bengaluru, with collaboration across Dev, QA, Ops, and product teams to deliver high-quality software on schedule.

Job Description

Work as a member of a team responsible for designing, coding, testing and maintaining Visa's Business Solutions B2B line of products.

Contribute to enhancements and changes to existing B2B applications codebase.

Develop code that complies with design specifications and meets security and Java/J2EE best practices.

Create code that is easily maintainable and have high system performance.

Collaborate with Development & QA staff on individual and team deliverables.

Create documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Work with operations team for any production issues

Identify opportunities for future enhancements and refinements to standards, best practices and development methodologies.

Work closely with project team and other groups (e.g. Network, QA, Ops, Engineering).

Follow Coding and Design best practices. Participate in design and code review sessions

Interact with business units to define requirements/modifications and use case to utilize in designing appropriate solutions

Adapt quickly to new application knowledge and changes

Work in a loosely structured, fast-paced organization.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

Education & Experience

• 1+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred)

Core Technical Skills

• Java & Backend Development:
• Strong experience with JAVA, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns
• Experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture
• Proficiency in code development using IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, or similar Java IDEs
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, TestNG)
• Understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and Java memory management
• Familiarity with reactive programming (Spring WebFlux, RxJava) is a plus
• Development Tools & Practices:
• Proficient with GIT/Stash for version control
• Experience with Maven or Gradle for dependency management and builds
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar CI/CD tools
• Understanding of code review best practices and collaborative development
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• AI-Assisted Development:
• Experience using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, or similar)
• Ability to leverage AI tools to improve coding efficiency and code quality
• Understanding of prompt engineering for effective AI collaboration
• Interest in exploring AI/ML integration in software applications
• Familiarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI) is a plus
