Job summary

Michelin North America, Inc. in Pune, India seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver end-to-end features across the stack in an Agile setting.

You will work with product managers, designers, and engineers to build scalable backend services in Java (Spring Boot) and modern frontend components, while ensuring robust APIs and quality software. The role emphasizes collaboration, problem solving, and adherence to SDLC and DevOps practices, including Docker, CI/CD, and cloud basics.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience in a product-oriented environment.
• Strong proficiency in Java and related frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA).
• Solid experience in frontend development with a modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework.
• Hands-on experience designing and consuming REST APIs
• Working knowledge of DevOps practices: Git, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins), Docker, and basic cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Strong understanding of software design principles, design patterns, and system design fundamentals.
• Solid grasp of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities; comfortable working in cross-functional, distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Apply DevOps fundamentals to support CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and basic cloud or Kubernetes deployments.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC): requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
• Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum team, contributing to sprint planning, code reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code, following best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, contributing to observability, monitoring, and incident response.
• Continuously learn and share knowledge with peers, mentoring junior team members when applicable.
