Job summary

Qualys is seeking a Java Developer to join a dynamic, hybrid team. You will design, develop, deploy, and debug microservices in a Kubernetes environment, with a strong emphasis on REST APIs and scalable architecture.

The role requires 2–3 years of Java experience, a CS degree, and a collaborative mindset. In addition to core development, you will explore AI-powered capabilities, use AI-assisted tooling, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (Computer Science preferred)
• 2-3 years of working experience in Java development
• Good problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Excellent attitude and communication skills
• Strong Java and Spring Boot knowledge with hands‑on experience in object-oriented design and development
• Knowledge of RDBMS systems; experience with Cassandra is a plus
• Good understanding of microservices architecture, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Elasticsearch
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and practical applications in software development
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar) to improve developer productivity
• Understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, and AI-powered application integrations is a plus
• Exposure to AI APIs/frameworks such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar technologies is desirable
