Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-reliability systems for Akamai's global network.

You will deliver software solutions with distributed systems, web and console interfaces, and collaborate with international cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and performance. Responsibilities include enhancing functionality for automation and identity management, supporting the full product life cycle from ideation to operation, and mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 0.6+ years of experience with programming in Python, Go and/or shell script.
• 0.6+ years of development experience on Linux/Unix platforms.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS and TLS/SSL.
• Experience with Git/Stash and Perforce version control systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilités

• Analyze, design, and implement high availability software systems.
• Add new functionality to services focused on automation, observability and identity management.
• Support full product life cycle from ideation to operation.
• Improve testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of software systems.
• Mentor less experienced engineers to ensure quality solutions.
• Evaluate emerging trends and technologies related to network operations and automation.

You will be part of a diverse team that designs, develops and maintains high-reliability systems. Youll have an opportunity to work and collaborate in an international environment with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders and other developers. You will be responsible to deliver high-quality software solutions. These solutions include distributed systems with both web and console interfaces.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Analyzing, designing, and implementing high availability systems software
• Bringing new functionality to a portfolio of services focused on automation, observability and identity management.
• Supporting the full product life cycle - ideation, implementation, operation.
• Improving the ability of our software systems for testing, deployment, monitoring and maintenance
• Mentoring less experienced engineers to ensure quality solutions are implemented
• Evaluating emerging trends and technologies related to network operations and automation

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, or related field
• Have at least 0.6 years experience with programming in Python, Go and/or shell script
• Have at least 0.6 years development experience on Linux/ Unix platforms
• Have knowledge of common internet protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS and/or TLS/SSL
• Have experience with git/Stash and Perforce version control systems.
• Demonstrate exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities & a good team player.
