About the RoleZANCK is looking for a Software Development Intern Software Systems to join our Engineering & Technology team.This role is designed for students and early-career developers who want hands‑on experience building, testing, improving, and maintaining real software systems.You will work alongside software engineers on practical development tasks across application logic, APIs, databases, integrations, debugging, and system improvements. You will be expected to learn quickly, write maintainable code, understand how software systems work end-to-end, and gradually take ownership of assigned development tasks.This is a learning‑through‑building role you won't just observe development; you'll contribute to it.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications.Write clean, readable, maintainable, and efficient code under the guidance of senior developers.Work on assigned features, modules, bug fixes, and technical improvements.Develop and integrate REST APIs and application services.Work with relational databases and perform basic database operations.Debug application issues and identify the underlying causes of problems.Participate in code reviews and incorporate technical feedback.Use Git and collaborative development workflows for source-code management.Write basic unit and integration tests where applicable.Assist in improving application performance, reliability, and maintainability.Understand existing codebases and contribute to ongoing product development.Participate in development discussions, sprint planning, stand-ups, and technical reviews.Maintain basic technical documentation for assigned work.Research unfamiliar technologies and apply what you learn to practical problems.Follow ZANCK's coding standards, development practices, security principles, and engineering processes.These responsibilities reflect the typical progression expected from software-development interns: supervised work on real features, debugging, testing, code reviews, and increasing ownership over time.
