Are you ready to shape how millions of EU customers discover and engage with Prime — both on Amazon and across the digital landscape? EU Prime Marketing & Incentives Tech is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to build scalable and robust systems at the intersection of generative AI, personalization, and large-scale distributed architecture. You'll leverage GenAI and ML technologies to power Prime customer engagement across marketing channels — from social media platforms to emerging digital channels.

This role offers the unique opportunity to start with EU-scale challenges while building solutions for worldwide impact. You'll architect cloud-native systems on AWS that drive how Prime reaches customers wherever they are, combining serverless, event-driven, and microservices patterns with AI-driven innovation. Key job responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, cloud-native distributed systems using serverless architectures, event-driven patterns, and microservices on AWS to support EU Prime customer engagement across marketing channels.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to integrate GenAI/LLM technologies and ML pipelines into production systems that drive personalized customer experiences at scale.
• Participate actively in the full software development lifecycle including code reviews, architecture reviews, testing, deployment, and operational excellence activities while mentoring team members on high-quality engineering practices.
• Drive technical decisions and design solutions for ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives that balance new feature development with system reliability, performance optimization, and maintainability.
• Identify and resolve root causes of operational issues while continuously improving team operations, documentation, and processes to reduce single-threaded dependencies and build team resilience.

A day in the life

You'll design and ship features that leverage GenAI-powered services and modern AWS architectures, collaborating closely with scientists to translate ML models into reliable production systems. Your day balances building innovative capabilities with maintaining operational excellence — participating in architecture and code reviews, using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, and ensuring systems perform reliably at scale. You'll work across teams to shape technical direction while staying current with emerging technologies like GenAI and ML to solve real customer problems.

EU Prime Marketing & Incentives Tech builds the technology powering Prime customer engagement across marketing channels. Our scope spans personalized onsite experiences to large-scale marketing integrations — including social media platforms, YouTube, and emerging digital channels — driving Prime acquisition, retention, and engagement for millions of EU customers. We're a collaborative team that values deep technical ownership and continuous learning, embracing GenAI and modern engineering practices to solve complex challenges at the intersection of marketing technology, audience targeting, and multi‑channel content delivery. Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 3+ years of Video Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
