Job summary

Amazon Devices team seeks a Software Development Engineer to own systems end-to-end, building scalable services for over-the-air updates, telemetry and troubleshooting across a high-volume fleet. You will influence architecture, write maintainable code, and mentor teammates.

You will contribute to distributed systems, device software, and wireless platform services with strong emphasis on performance and reliability, collaborating across teams and delivering impactful customer experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

The Amazon Devices team designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle family of products. We have also produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Dash, and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?

A Software Developer Engineer (SDE) at Amazon work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end to end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world. At Amazon an SDE can expect to lead team(s) of highly performing individuals in the design of flexible and scalable solutions, and day-to-day operations. They will work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming. We will be working on building and operating new services that will help improve the experience of our customers when doing over-the-air updates, telemetry, and troubleshooting their devices.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience securing cloud software services and understanding design for scalability, performance and reliability
• Development experience with communications products (e.g. IP messaging, voice, and video)
• Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers to maintain architectural vision and software quality
