Job summary

LiveRamp is seeking a backend/data engineer to design, build, and maintain ML workflows and data pipelines using BigQuery, GCS, and related cloud services. You will develop backend services, pipeline components, and shared libraries used by our agentic platform.

You will build and strengthen observability for production workflows, including monitoring, alerting, retry behavior, timeout handling, and operational diagnostics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years professional backend/data engineering experience in production environments.
• Experience with SQL and data processing on warehouse-scale datasets.
• Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration framework.

You Will

Design, build, and maintain ML and data workflows that use BigQuery, GCS, and related cloud services to support internal products and downstream consumers.

Develop backend services, pipeline components, and shared libraries used by our agentic platform.

Build and strengthen observability for production workflows, including monitoring, alerting, retry behavior, timeout handling, and operational diagnostics.

Work closely with engineers and cross‑functional partners to turn product requirements into robust technical solutions.

Participate in team operations, incident response, and on‑call or support rotations as needed for shared production systems.

Your Team Will

• Own and evolve the ML and data workflows behind our Identity resolution product, including pipeline reliability, data quality, deployment confidence, and operational visibility.
• Support shared agentic platform capabilities used by multiple teams, with clear ownership of common services and escalation paths for infrastructure dependencies.
• Partner globally across time zones with teams in engineering, infrastructure, and product to deliver high-impact systems from India.

About You

• You have 3+ years professional software engineering experience building backend systems, data pipelines, or ML infrastructure in production environments.
• You are strong in at least one programming language commonly used for backend or data systems such as Python.
• You have experience working with SQL and data processing systems, and you are comfortable developing against warehouse‑scale datasets.
• You have experience with Airflow or similar orchestration framework.
• You have hands‑on experience with cloud‑native data tooling, especially BigQuery, GCS, or similar managed storage and compute services.
• You understand how to build reliable systems with monitoring, alerting, retries, timeouts, validation checks, and safe failure handling.
• You can debug production issues methodically and improve systems based on operational signals and recurring failure modes.
• You communicate clearly, collaborate well across teams, and take ownership of outcomes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CI/CD, deployment gates, and regression test automation for data or ML systems.
• Familiarity with ML platform patterns, feature or model‑adjacent workflows, and internal platform libraries.
• Experience operating systems that span multiple external dependencies and shared infrastructure layers.
• Exposure to agentic platform or AI‑adjacent infrastructure is a plus.
