Job description

How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to build and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, AWS technologies, and modern software engineering practices. The ideal candidate understands the fundamental concepts and principles of full-stack development and applies them to deliver quality code in routine situations, with guidance and supervision from senior engineers. The role involves hands‑on development across backend services, modern web applications, and AWS cloud components, along with familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality. This individual demonstrates strong ownership of assigned tasks, follows established standards and best practices, communicates openly, and is eager to learn and grow while contributing to the delivery of business‑critical applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain cloud-native applications using AWS services and modern engineering practices.
  • Develop and maintain modern web applications using Angular, TypeScript, and contemporary frontend development practices.
  • Build responsive and user-friendly experiences in partnership with senior engineers and product owners.
  • Develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices patterns, writing structured and maintainable code that follows best practices and coding standards.
  • Contribute across the technology stack, from user interfaces through APIs, business services, and cloud components, under guidance.
  • Deploy code to AWS components (e.g., Lambda) and write infrastructure-as-code for provisioning, following approved patterns.
  • Work with relational databases (Postgres, Aurora, MySQL, Oracle) and non-relational stores (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis), writing efficient queries, indexes, and stored procedures.
  • Create unit test cases for written code, meet code coverage standards (>80%), and use testing frameworks such as JUnit and PyTest.
  • Manage version control with Git (branching, merging, conflict resolution) and follow defined workflows.
  • Understand and follow Delta's security practices, and resolve security defects raised by scans (AMU, Veracode, SCA) with support as needed.
  • Participate in operations and troubleshooting activities, follow SOPs, and perform first-level troubleshooting during outages or alerts.
  • Use Delta-approved AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Kiro) responsibly for coding, testing, documentation, and debugging, validating output rather than accepting it as-is.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, complete committed work per the Definition of Done, and raise blockers to the Scrum Master or Technical Product Owner.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
  • 2+ years of software development experience with a solid foundation in Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands‑on experience developing web applications using Angular, TypeScript, and modern frontend development patterns.
  • Working knowledge of AWS cloud services and an understanding of AWS essentials, including serverless components and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Ability to code in at least two programming languages and write structured, maintainable code following coding standards.
  • Working knowledge of relational and non‑relational databases and the ability to write efficient queries.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices (e.g., GitLab CI, SonarQube, Veracode, Maven, Gradle, npm).
  • Ability to accurately manage version control with Git, including branching, merging, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to create unit test cases and use testing frameworks (JUnit, PyTest).
  • Exposure to Delta-approved AI‑assisted development tools for coding, testing, documentation, and debugging, with an understanding of responsible AI use.
  • Familiarity with Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • This role requires participation in shared on‑call support rotation, including holidays and weekends. In the event of a production emergency, the individual must be available to provide 24/7 support.
Behavioral Competencies
  • Ability to work in collaborative environments and embrace diverse perspectives.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, express thoughts and ideas effectively, and embrace cultural differences with respect when engaging with others.
  • Ability to engage effectively with peers and stakeholders to build strong partnerships.
  • Prioritize, maintain focus, and consistently deliver commitment.
  • Proactively understand customer expectations and willingness to create customer‑based solutions.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner or Associate‑level certification.
  • Exposure to microservices and serverless computing concepts.
  • Basic understanding of security principles in cloud environments.
  • Exposure to modern AI technologies and AI‑assisted development frameworks is a plus.
