Job summary

Halliburton is seeking an experienced Java software engineer to join the Landmark Software & Services team in Bengaluru. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, J2EE, and microservices, driving scalable solutions for the energy sector.

You will work with Docker, Kubernetes, relational and NoSQL databases, and modern CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software and improve performance across the stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
• 6–10 years of professional experience in Java development.
• Strong proficiency in J2EE, including Servlets, JSP, EJB, and JMS.
• Experience with Quarkus or similar microservices frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, joins, indexing, and stored procedures.
• Solid understanding of database design and performance tuning across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL DBs.
• Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments, including shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Familiarity with Maven for build automation and Git-based CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Helm charts for Kubernetes application packaging and deployment.
• Experience integrating OAuth tools for secure authentication and authorization
• Ability to work independently as a strong individual contributor and mentor junior team members.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for clean, maintainable code.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

The successful candidate will work on innovative technologies as an integral member of the Information Management and Platform Technologies Development team within Halliburton’s Landmark Software & Services Product Service Line. • Knowledge of API gateways, service mesh, and observability tools.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Understanding of Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI technologies.

Characteristics: Proven technical abilities; strong communication, analytical and decision-making skills; 8+ years of experience.
