Job summary

Halliburton's Landmark Software & Services unit in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Software Developer specialized in C++. You will own the full development cycle for complex software used in the oil and gas industry, from design through delivery, with minimal supervision and strong technical judgment.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and drive improvements to code quality, security, and performance across REST APIs, databases, and cloud/on‑prem deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline is mandatory.
• Minimum 7+ years of hands-on software development experience required.
• Experience leading teams is preferred.
• Oil & Gas domain experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in C++, MFC; strong knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle.
• Familiarity with JSON, gRPC, Visual Studio, and XAML.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and GitLab.

Job Duties

Under broad direction, designs, codes, tests, trouble-shoots and documents engineering systems applications. Develops test strategies used in the automated regression testing of these systems. Follows secure coding practices, performs triaging of security issues, and implements fixes to deliver secure applications. Familiar with common software vulnerabilities and leading practices to mitigate. Works on large scale, complex projects. Proactively identifies areas for improvement within the software system and development processes and proposes new solutions. Develops assignments and schedules. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and a minimum of 7 years of related experience, including software development experience.

Apply system design patterns to build efficient, maintainable, and high-performing solutions. Guide technical research and development efforts, mentor team members, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software. Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is mandatory. Minimum 7+ years of hands‑on software development experience is mandatory. Experience leading teams is preferred. Proven leadership experience or readiness to take on a team lead role. Strong background in project design, execution, and data analysis. Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills are mandatory. Oil & Gas domain experience is a plus.
