Job summary

SonicWall, a cybersecurity leader, seeks an experienced backend engineer to develop and maintain cloud-based products. You will own production software and collaborate across cross-functional teams in a globally distributed environment.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years with a master’s, strong Java/servlets skills, and cloud product experience. Linux shell familiarity is a plus. SonicWall is an equal opportunity employer.

• Strong sense of ownership of production software
• Willingness to work in cross-functional teams in a highly collaborative, cross-time-zone work environment

Requirements

• Solid computer science fundamentals in areas such as data structures and algorithms
• Strong programming experience in Java, servlets, and related technologies
• Experience working on cloud-based products
• Experience working on high transaction volume production systems is a plus
• Hands-on experience in using AI-based coding tools, such as Claude Code for development and problem solving
• Experience working on Linux systems, with exposure to shell programming
• Strong sense of product ownership, analytical skills, and attention to detail

Education and Experience

• At least 7 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 5 years with a master’s degree
• Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
