Job summary

Aptiv in Bengaluru is seeking a senior embedded software architect to lead AUTOSAR-based architectures across automotive platforms. You will drive the SDLC from requirements to deployment, ensuring quality, cost, and compliance objectives.

Candidates should have 14-16 years of automotive embedded experience, strong AUTOSAR Classic expertise, CAN/LIN/Ethernet, and hands-on Vector DaVinci tools. Security, bootloader, OTA knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate in BE/ B.Tech/ ME/ M.Tech in Electronics/ Electricals/ Instrumentation/ Computer Science.
• 10+ years of work experience required.
• Hands-on AUTOSAR Classic Architecture with end-to-end configuration and integration.
• Experience with Communication Stack (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), Memory Stack (NVM, FEE), Diagnostic Stack (DEM, DCM, UDS) and AUTOSAR OS modules.
• Bootloader experience and Software Download (SWDL) / OTA updates.
• Strong cybersecurity background with Secure boot/update and SecOC/MACSec.
• Experience with Vector DaVinci tools and AUTOSAR configuration workflows.
• Knowledge of 32-bit MCUs (Infineon Aurix, Renesas, ARM-based) and ASPICE.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and automotive domains (ADAS/Infotainment/Vehicle Gateway).

Responsibilities

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Required Exp: 14-16 Yrs
• Lead the design and governance of automotive embedded software architectures, including AUTOSARbased solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Define scalable, modular, and reusable architectural patterns, components, and interfaces across automotive platforms using AUTOSAR Classic concepts.
• Drive the full SDLC from requirements through deployment, providing technical oversight to meet quality, schedule, cost, and compliance objectives.
• Apply deep expertise in embedded systems, MCU architectures, AUTOSAR BSW/RTE, and automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Establish and oversee testing, debugging, and system validation using tools such as Vector CANalyzer/CANoe, Renesas hardware, and AUTOSAR validation workflows.
• Act as the primary customer interface for software architecture, managing architecture toolchains, evaluating new technologies, and delivering innovative, valuedriven AUTOSAR solutions.

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate in BE/ B.Tech/ ME/ M.Tech (Electronics/ Electricals /Instrumentation /Computer Science) with work experience of 10+ years
• Hands-on experience with AUTOSAR Classic Architecture, including end-to-end configuration and integration of Communication Stack (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), Memory Stack (NVM, FEE), Diagnostic Stack (DEM, DCM, UDS) and AUTOSAR OS modules (OS, ECUM, BSWM, PowerMod)
• Bootloader experience
• Proven experience with Software Download (SWDL) and Over-the-Air (OTA) update mechanisms, including Bootloader interaction and flashing strategies
• Should have at least 5 years of experience working on bootloader design and development.
• Have deep understanding on memory partitioning and access

• In-depth understanding of the cryptography concepts and utilization
• Should have at least 7 years of experience in Cybersecurity
• Hands-on experience with implementation of security features like Secure boot, secure update, Secure communication (SecOC, MACSec)
• Must have exposure to TARA and concept development
• Hands-on experience with Vector DaVinci tools, particularly DaVinci Configurator and related AUTOSAR configuration workflows
• Strong knowledge of 32-bit Microcontroller architectures, with hands-on development experience on: Infineon Aurix, Renesas, PowerPC or ARM-based automotive MCUs
• Solid understanding of Automotive Product Development lifecycle, including compliance and alignment with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE)
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum-based software development environments, including sprint planning, reviews, and continuous integration practices
• Working experience in one or more Automotive domains: ADAS, Infotainment or Vehicle Gateway systems.
