TYPSA India is seeking an experienced Social Impact Specialist to conduct SIA, prepare RAP/IPPs or livelihood restoration plans, and ensure gender and inclusion in project design. The role involves stakeholder engagement, public consultations, and coordination with government authorities on highway projects in Maharashtra.

The candidate should possess 15 years of highway infrastructure experience, with strong skills in GRM, monitoring, and reporting.

Qualificações

• SIA experience and adherence to RFCTLARR Act 2013 and World Bank/ADB guidelines.
• Experience in RAP/IPPs and livelihood restoration.
• Ability to develop SEP and stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Knowledge of gender and inclusion in project design.
• Strong liaison with government authorities and contractors.

Conduct Social Impact Assessments (SIA) in accordance with applicable laws and guidelines (e.g., RFCTLARR Act 2013, World Bank ESS, ADB SPS, etc.).

Identify and assess potential social risks including land acquisition, displacement, community health and safety, and vulnerable groups.

Prepare and implement Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs), Indigenous Peoples Plans (IPPs), or Livelihood Restoration Plans as required.

Ensure integration of gender and inclusion aspects in the project design and implementation.

Develop and implement Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEP) and consultation strategies with affected communities.

Facilitate public hearings, workshops, and disclosure meetings in coordination with local authorities.

Document stakeholder inputs and ensure they are incorporated into project decisions.

Support the Land Acquisition and Resettlement process in coordination with government authorities.

Oversee compensation disbursement, relocation, and livelihood restoration activities.

Monitor compliance with social safeguard measures during construction and operation phases.

Develop and maintain a Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) and track grievance resolution.

Prepare monthly/quarterly monitoring reports on social performance and compliance.

Liaise with contractors and supervision consultants to ensure implementation of social mitigation measures.

Maintain social data and documentation for audits and review missions.

Requirements

Qualification: B.A in sociology/ Economics and M.A in sociology/ Economics

Experience: 15 years of experience must be in highway infrastructure projects.
