Job summary

Standard Chartered is seeking an experienced frontend engineer to design user-friendly dashboards and ensure high-performance outputs. You will apply engineering standards, collaborate on strategy initiatives, and drive scalable frontend solutions using React.js, HTML, CSS, TypeScript and Bootstrap.

The role involves contributing to DevOps practices, integrating with Node.js backends, and aligning with governance and regulatory requirements across the bank.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and Bootstrap.
  • Experience with React.js frontend development and Node.js backend is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design user-friendly dashboards with high performance and accuracy.
  • Apply engineering standards and architecture principles to meet requirements.
  • Identify and implement internal process improvements and scalability enhancements.

  • Understand and apply the engineering standards and architecture design principles and standards, adopt bank wide strategic initiatives like cloud, technology policy and standards
Business
  • Design the user-friendly dashboards with high performing and accurate output to meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Processes
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
People & Talent
  • Build the appropriate culture and values to be a role model. Acquire new skills to keep up the system update to date and to align bank wide new initiatives
Risk Management
  • Proactively manage the risks and come up with mitigation plans if required.
Governance
  • Adhere bank’s policy and complete mandatory training courses to keep you are up to date on the latest developments.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
