Job summary

Persistent Systems in Pune, India, seeks a Snowflake Lead Data Engineer to design, optimize, and manage scalable data solutions using Snowflake, SQL, and PySpark. The role requires 9–12 years of experience and a full-time employment commitment.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs while ensuring security, governance, and performance across Snowflake environments. Hybrid work is supported.

Qualifications

• Nine to twelve years of data engineering experience with Snowflake implementations.
• Strong SQL/PL-SQL skills including complex queries and procedures.
• Hands-on PySpark for large-scale data processing and transformations.
• Knowledge of data governance and RBAC in cloud environments.

Snowflake Lead Data Engineer responsible for building, optimizing, and managing scalable data solutions using Snowflake, SQL, and PySpark while ensuring performance, security, and seamless integration across systems.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and optimize data solutions using Snowflake as the primary platform
• Utilize Snowflake features such as Snow pipe, Time Travel, Secure Data Sharing (Snowflake Sharing)
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs
• Ensure data security, governance, and compliance within Snowflake environments
• Troubleshoot and enhance performance issues related to Snowflake architecture
• Design and implement end-to-end data architectures using Snowflake
• Develop and optimize SQL and PL/SQL scripts for data processing
• Work with PySpark for large-scale data processing and transformation
• Integrate Snowflake with existing systems in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Monitor and optimize performance, storage, cost of Snowflake environments

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake architecture, including Snowpipe, Time Travel, and Secure Data Sharing
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL with experience in complex queries, stored procedures, and data transformations
• Experience in designing end-to-end data pipelines and implementing scalable data architectures
• Hands-on experience with PySpark for large-scale data processing and transformation
• Ability to integrate Snowflake with external systems, ETL tools, and cloud platforms
• Strong experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and cost optimization in Snowflake
• Knowledge of data governance, security practices, and role-based access control (RBAC)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills
