SMT Quality Engineer & Lead

Job summary

Varroc is seeking a Head/Lead Quality for SMT Quality at its Pune site to drive process improvements and ensure high quality across SMT and EV lines. You will monitor KPIs, implement PFMEA and control plans, and lead cross-functional quality initiatives with production, process engineering and supplier quality.

You will conduct daily quality reviews, plan audits, lead 8D/QRQC/CAPA, and coach shift engineers to sustain line-wise targets and continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Strong in driving process improvements and handling customer issues.
• Drive quality performance across SMT & EV lines.
• Monitor daily quality KPIs (FPY, rejection, rework, escapes).
• Ensure implementation of Control Plans, SOPs, and PFMEA on the shop floor.
• Conduct daily quality review meetings with Shift In-Charges.
• Plan and monitor Process Audits and Layered Process Audits (LPA).
• Lead 8D, QRQC, CAPA and cross-functional root cause analysis.
• Drive rejection reduction, FPY improvement, and process capability enhancement.
• Coach and develop Shift In-Charges and Quality Engineers.
• Coordinate with Production, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and Supplier Quality.
• Escalate critical quality risks to the Plant Quality Head and ensure timely closure.
• Standardize best practices across all shifts and production lines.
• Ensure achievement of line-wise quality targets and continuous improvement.
