A consulting firm is seeking an experienced professional to conduct SMETA assessments across India, ensuring compliance with labour, health & safety, and business ethics standards. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering or Social Sciences and 3-5 years of experience in ethical trade audits. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential, along with a willingness to travel extensively across the country.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in social compliance or ethical trade audits.
• Knowledge of Indian labour & HSE laws.
• APSCA registration / SMETA auditor training preferred.
• APSCA registration / SMETA auditor training preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical, and reporting skills.
• Willing to travel extensively across India.

Location: Corporate Office / PAN India (Remote with Travel)

Experience: 6+ Years (Certification Industry Preferred)

Job Summary: Responsible for conducting SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) assessments across client sites in India to evaluate compliance with labour, health & safety, environmental, and business ethics standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct 2-pillar and 4-pillar SMETA audits at factories and facilities.
• Review documents, inspect sites, and interview workers & management.
• Identify non-conformities and prepare detailed audit reports & CAPRs.
• Ensure audits comply with SMETA guidelines and local labour laws.
• Coordinate audit schedules, communicate with clients, and submit reports on time.
• Maintain professional integrity and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate in Engineering / Social Sciences / Environmental Studies or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in social compliance or ethical trade audits (SMETA, BSCI, SA8000 preferred).
• Knowledge of Indian labour & HSE laws.
• APSCA registration / SMETA auditor training preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical, and reporting skills.
• Willing to travel extensively across India.
