Qualifications

  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo.
  • Experience with Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Excel, and data management tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze hydrological and hydraulic models for water resource projects.
  • Perform runoff analysis, stormwater studies, flood estimation, flood risk assessment, and 1D/2D hydraulic modeling.
  • Build and validate models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and other hydraulic modeling software
  • Collect, process, analyze, and interpret hydrological, meteorological, and geospatial datasets.
  • Utilize GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo) for spatial analysis, mapping, and drawing support.
  • Perform data manipulation and visualization using Excel, Power BI, MS Access, and FME.
  • Develop scripts and automate workflows using Python, R, SQL, and Advanced Excel. Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and client presentations.
  • Analyze project challenges, identify risks, and recommend technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
  • Stay updated with advancements in hydrology, GIS, and water resource technologies.

JD for SME Hydrology -

We are seeking a technically proficient SME Water Resources/Hydrologist to support hydrological and hydraulic modeling projects. The role involves developing and analyzing hydrological models, conducting flood studies, interpreting geospatial and water resource data, preparing technical reports, and providing technical expertise for project execution.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with hydrological modeling tools, and the ability to collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities -
  • Develop and analyze hydrological and hydraulic models for water resource projects.
  • Perform runoff analysis, stormwater studies, flood estimation, flood risk assessment, and 1D/2D hydraulic modeling.

To effectively measure the performance of an SME Hydrologist, metrics are divided between their individual contributions and their team leadership support.

  • Technical Reporting – Prepare and submit high-quality technical reports and project documentation within agreed timelines.
  • Problem Solving & Risk Mitigation – Identify project risks proactively and recommend effective technical solutions.Client Coordination – Collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure successful project execution.
