Job summary

Hero MotoCorp in India seeks a Product Lead- R&D Digital Transformation to create the digital strategy for NPD processes and align it with R&D leadership. The role includes preparing business cases for digital investments and guiding end-to-end deployments with IT Engineering/security teams and vendors.

The position requires extensive experience in IT-R&D, budgeting, vendor management, and leading teams across design, simulation, and testing in ICE & EV programs.

Qualifications

• B. Tech (Mechanical Engineering) and MBA (Strategy) are preferred.
• 10 years in the same role or 15+ years with 5 years in same role.

Responsibilities

• Define IT enterprise architecture for R&D digital toolchains across ICE & EV platforms.
• Bridge CIO priorities and CTO/R&D demands to align IT-R&D strategy.
• Ensure cybersecurity, IP protection, and data governance for R&D software and cloud assets.
• Manage IT budget and software license optimization; obtain approvals.
• Lead user support, training and digital change enablement.
• Vendor relationship management for existing and new applications onboarding.
• Lead the team supporting engineering applications for design, simulation and testing, HPC.
• Collaborate with users to build requirements, create business cases, and drive deployments.

Product Lead- R&D Digital Transformation will focus on creating the digital strategy for NPD process and aligning this to R&D leadership, preparing the business case for these digital investments, getting it aligned and approved with the other CXOs. The position is responsible for end-to-end deployments and maintenance of digital technologies at R&D with the help of internal IT Engineering/ security teams and vendor ecosystems.

A purpose driven role for you

• Strategic IT-R&D Alignment on digital Roadmap - Serve as the bridge between CIO priorities and CTO/R&D demands
• Define the IT enterprise architecture for R&D digital toolchains across ICE & EV platforms
• Ensures cybersecurity, IP protection, and data governance across all R&D software and cloud assets in co-ordination with internal DIT teams
• IT Budget & Software License Optimization, Getting the Budget approved for Applications renewals and new capability building
• User Support, Training & Digital Change Enablement
• Vendor Relationship Management for existing and new applications onboarding
• Managing the team and users on support for Engineering applications related to design, simulation and testing, HPC and other relevant technologies
• Work with the users for building the requirements, aligning solutions, vendor POCs, preparing business case, aligning with procurement for PO release and deployment of the solution

Academic Qualification & Experience

• B. Tech (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• MBA (Strategy) preferred

Technical Skills/Knowledge

• Familiarity with the R&D digital vendor ecosystem (Dassault Systemes, Siemens, Ansys, Altair Etc.) and their tools and technologies related to design, simulation and testing
• Understanding of licensing and business models
• 2-wheeler New Product Development process understanding
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Able to handle more than 100 Cr. Budget

• Proficiency in written and spoken English, with good communication skills.
